FREE 2009 Hot Wheels Poster at Toywiz now for Collectors

This year’s most anticipated movie will definitely be the Transformers Movie 2: ROTF Revenge of the Fallen! As more and more movie stills and photos been revealed and also mass updates from various transformers movie blogs, fans are eagerly waiting for its release date on 26th June 2009.

Movie plot: Decepticon forces return to Earth on a mission to take Sam Witwicky prisoner, after the young hero learns the truth about the ancient origins of the Transformers. Joining the mission to protect humankind is Optimus Prime, who forms an alliance with international armies for a second epic battle.

The official movie poster also been revealed, “Revenge is Coming” and this is definitely the Big Bad Megatron year. Though many fakes have been floating around recently, any fan with a good eye will be able to confirm its authenticity, as the production quality of the image is too great to be anything fan made, and the image bears a striking resemblance to the eyes on the cards of the Revenge of the Fallen toy packaging as well as the designs seen on a few ROTF comics.

The timing is also right, as Michael Bay said a teaser poster would be released sometime after the new year.

After the Japanese toy company merger, Takara Tomy is always on the lookout for new ideas with their franchise. Sports label, Music label, and now the Chrono Label brings back the retro idea of transforming wrist-watch. Remember the old time with your digital watch which can transform into robots? Now it’s your chance to bring back the old memories but with a high-end product, not to mention the high price.

This Chrono Label transformers comes in 2 version, Time Limit and Auto Ceptor. They carry a price of 30,000yen each. Accordingly, the LCD on the watch features 170 LEDs to display rudimentary graphics which depict a smiley face, sleepy face, or the Autobots/Decepticons symbol. The watch also displays the time and various letters on the LCD. Over 20 actions/letters can be displayed!

Toywiz will start taking preorders on these items soon. Release date shall be end of August 2009.

Star Trek movie (2009) scheduled to be premier on 8th May 2009, and more toys and collectibles will come to Toywiz definitely. Good news for the Star Trek fans after years of waiting! Movie synopsis from Paramount: From director J.J. Abrams (“Mission: Impossible III,” “Lost” and “Alias”) and screenwriters Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci (“TRANSFORMERS,” “MI: III”) comes a new vision of the greatest space adventure of all time, “Star Trek,” featuring a young, new crew venturing boldly where no man has gone before. A lot of movie trailers are already shown on Youtube for your previews.

Master Replicas will create collectible items for the film, while Playmates Toys will create action figures, electronic toys, ship models and costumes for children. The first waves will be released in March and April 2009, and then in September. Playmates previously owned the toy license to Star Trek until 2000. Diamond Select/Art Asylum still own the rights to items based on previous incarnations of the franchise. Mattel will also promote the film through their Hot Wheels, Tyco R/C, 20Q, Scene It? and Barbie lines (some of which are based on previous Star Trek iterations rather than the 2009 film). One thing for sure, there are more to come and fans will definitely overjoyed with them!

Mattel had released their pictures of the Barbie Dolls version of Star Trek featuring Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk, Zachary Quinto’s Spock and Zoe Saldana’s Uhura from the 2009 movie version. Each doll will carry a phaser and communicator accessories. These dolls are expected to arrive to Toywiz around April 2009. Retail price is set at RM219 each.

The line will feature four of Trek’s most iconic ships. Hot Wheels designers pay tribute to the incredibly enduring and popular Star Trek franchise with this die-cast assortment of 1:50 scale models based on the movies and television shows. These models are loaded with the kind of detail that will drive Star Trek collectors and Trekkies absolutely wild with excitement.
